James Wells

Chief Executive Officer

James Wells is the Chief Executive Officer of Sanctuary AI and has been with the company since 2018. With the team at Sanctuary AI, James pioneered new markets for general-purpose humanoid robots to address global growing labor challenges. He has previous experience as an entrepreneur–having co-created three companies with founding investments–and as a venture capitalist who invested in three early-stage tech companies, now resulting in $1 billion+ valuations. He specializes in the commercialization, strategy, and financing of breakthrough hardware technologies that impact the world on a planetary scale.

James received his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of British Columbia, has raised money for the Parkinson's Society of Canada by cycling across Canada, and completed an N of 1 experiment in mindfulness by completing an IRONMAN by training only with yoga.
